Children's Work
What is Children’s Work?
The Children and Youth Work Team support Children’s Clubs and projects in the local communities. Through social, physical, emotional and creative play experiences children are encouraged to explore their imagination and develop a range of learning experiences.
Children’s Work Principles
Children’s Clubs provide children with the opportunity to participate in a variety of stimulating educational experiences. Children are consulted in all aspects of the day to day running of the club. Programmes are developed in partnership with children, local volunteers, artists, outdoor education, sports staff and seasonal staff.
Core skills development for children include:
- Participation
- Empowerment
- Communication
- Confidence Building
- Social Skills
- Interpersonal Skills
All children’s workers comply with the Children’s Act regulations in relation to the care and security of children. No adults unless they have been fully vetted are left unsupervised with children.
